Yecla (Murcia), September 25 – As part of its 50th anniversary, ID David has inaugurated the “La Rambla La Vera” Experimental Farm, a pioneering space in the region that reinforces its commitment to innovation, agricultural mechanization, and sustainability.
This new project not only celebrates half a century of history, but also becomes an authentic agronomic laboratory, unique in the area, to develop and demonstrate the technology that will mark the future of farming.
A Living Laboratory for Mechanization and Sustainability
The farm, located in Yecla, consists of 1.3 hectares of super-intensive olive grove and 1.3 hectares of Syrah variety vineyard grafted onto vigorous rootstock, which makes it possible to demonstrate that the total mechanization of agricultural tasks is possible. Furthermore, it includes a traditional olive grove more than 150 years old in a 12×12 pattern, showing how mechanization can be applied even to historic crops.
“Our goal is to demonstrate that the total mechanization of agricultural tasks is possible. Furthermore, we have recovered the stream (rambla) that gives the farm its name, reforesting it with native species and creating green corridors that reinforce the sustainability of the project.”
— Antonio Díaz, Marketing and Sales Director
The project has had the support of key companies in the sector, such as PGA Ingeniería, Azud, Agromillora, and Tomás Palao, who have helped make this innovative space a reality.
The First Agronomic Laboratory
The great novelty of the “La Rambla La Vera” Experimental Farm is that it is the first agronomic laboratory of its kind in the region, designed so that ID David can test, develop, and perfect its equipment and prototypes without depending on third parties.
“This place is an authentic laboratory, unique in the area, where we can test and develop our equipment and prototypes without depending on third parties. We want our engineering and sales teams to be able to invite clients to see the machines in operation, because agriculture is experienced by setting foot on the land, not just in a catalog.”
— Francisco López, CEO of ID David
The space will be managed under 100% ecological criteria, with plant covers, efficient irrigation, and controlled biodiversity, making it a regional benchmark for sustainable agriculture and applied innovation. Thanks to this environment, ID David can validate new mechanization solutions in real time and demonstrate their effectiveness to farmers, distributors, and technicians worldwide.
A 50th Anniversary with Institutional Recognition
The inauguration was attended by authorities and representatives from the agro-industrial sector.
“Industria David is an example of how innovation and the ability to adapt to changes in crops, markets, and customers have turned this family business into an international benchmark, present in more than 50 countries with over 10,000 different solutions for its clients.”
— Remedios Lajara, Mayor of Yecla
“ID David is synonymous with commitment to employment, to Yecla, and to agricultural modernization. It is 50 years of effort, forward vision, and taking the name of Yecla to more than 50 countries. The best is yet to come.”
— Marcos Ortuño, Minister of the Presidency of the Region of Murcia
Half a Century of History and International Projection
Founded in 1974, ID David has evolved from a family workshop to become an international benchmark in agricultural mechanization, with a presence in over 50 countries and a network of more than 200 points of sale worldwide. Its strategy combines technological innovation, patent development, digitalization, and environmental commitment, making it a key player in the Murcian industrial fabric and a trusted partner for farmers and distributors.
Digital Innovation: The Impulse of Melmak Technologies
In 2023, ID David took a decisive step towards the digital transformation of the agricultural sector by launching Melmak Technologies, its own technological start-up. The objective: to develop intelligent and connected solutions for professional agriculture, focusing on automation and data collection to optimize agricultural tasks, reduce operating costs, and improve sustainability. That same year, AgroBank selected Melmak Technologies as one of the 10 most promising agrotech startups in Spain, within its program to boost agri-food innovation.
Looking to the Future
With the opening of the “La Rambla La Vera” Experimental Farm, ID David reaffirms its leadership in intelligent agricultural mechanization and its commitment to a more efficient and sustainable agriculture. This new laboratory, unique in the region, is not only a commitment to innovation but also a guarantee that the company will continue to support farmers worldwide for decades to come.
