New subsoilers for cover crops in the ID David portfolio: ID-TERRA and ID-TERRA PRO

By 28 January, 2026 No Comments

ID David expands its product portfolio with two new subsoilers designed specifically for working in soils with cover crops: ID-TERRA and ID-TERRA PRO.

Two complementary solutions to improve soil structure, optimize water use and enhance crop productivity without compromising the cover crop.

ID-TERRA: Effective and respectful subsoiling

The ID-TERRA is a curved arm subsoiler with roller, designed to break up compacted layers caused by machinery traffic, without disturbing the surface.

The curved arm design allows for progressive subsoiling, improving infiltration and soil aeration without damaging the main roots. It is available in three working widths for different planting spacings: from 1.45 m to 2.05 m, and is compatible with low- and medium-power tractors.

Technical highlights:

  • Two arms made of boron steel (52 HRC), with special-steel blades for effective penetration.
  • Height-adjustable arms, adapting the working depth to soil conditions and crop requirements.
  • Height-adjustable rear roller, available as a Smooth or Packer roller.
  • Mechanical safety shear bolt, protecting the assembly against overloads.
  • Reinforced boron-steel boots and support stand for increased stability and durability.

ID-TERRA PRO: Maximum efficiency in demanding conditions

The ID-TERRA PRO is the most robust and technical version of the range. It incorporates three straight arms and front discs, making it especially suitable for more compacted soils or demanding working conditions.

The use of straight arms allows for a more direct breaking of compacted layers, maintaining the cover crop and improving the soil structure in depth.

Technical highlights:

  • Three straight arms made of HARDOX® steel , with special-steel blades.
  • Height-adjustable arms for precise control of the working depth.
  • Height-adjustable front discs , which facilitate soil entry and cutting of the cover crop.
  • Height-adjustable rear roller , available as a Smooth roller or Star roller.
  • Standard mechanical safety shear bolt and optional “non-stop” hydro-pneumatic safety system.
  • Available in two working widths: 1.3 m and 1.65 m.

Functionality and benefits ID-TERRA and ID-TERRA PRO

Advantages
Functionality
Savings and Profitability
Improved water infiltration and retention.
Reduces runoff and erosion; water is better absorbed and retained in the soil.
Savings in irrigation water and reduced loss of fertile soil.
Root development.
Breaks compacted layers, allowing greater root growth.
More vigorous plants with better access to water and nutrients, improving yield.
Increased biological activity.
Improves aeration and activates microorganisms that decompose organic matter.
Fertile soil with reduced need for chemical fertilisers.
Enhanced soil structure.
Decreases soil compaction from machinery and prevents impermeable layers.
Less corrective tillage and greater efficiency of irrigation water.
Reduced water stress.
Enhances the capture and retention of rainwater and irrigation.
Lower risk of drought, savings on supplemental irrigation, and reduced plant mortality.
Tree productivity and health.
Improves plant health and reduces diseases caused by waterlogging or root asphyxiation.
Increased production and reduced expenditure on crop protection products.

Both subsoilers share a common goal: improving soil structure without compromising the cover crop. The difference lies in how and how much the soil needs to be worked.

A new range aligned with sustainable agriculture

With the incorporation of ID-TERRA and ID-TERRA PRO, ID DAVID reinforces its commitment to more efficient and sustainable agriculture, offering tools that improve soil structure, decrease reliance on external inputs, and optimise water use.

Two new subsoilers that expand ID DAVID’s portfolio and provide concrete solutions to current soil management challenges in woody crops.
