Technical Mention at EIMA 2024 for the Smart-Sense System

By 3 October, 2024 No Comments

As part of the International Exhibition of Agricultural Machinery (EIMA 2024), ID David has received, for the fourth consecutive year, a technical mention for the Smart-Sense, a new sensitive and self-regulating detection system for inter-row cultivation.

Smart-Sense is a solution that combines electrical, electronic, and programming components to enhance the precision, efficiency, and sustainability of agricultural tasks, particularly in high-value crops. This system is part of ID David’s commitment to Agriculture 4.0 and system automation.

Innovation for Precision Agriculture

The new Smart-Sense sensor stands out for its ability to automatically adjust to terrain conditions, crop morphology, and spacing between plants, without the need for manual intervention. This is achieved through a design that includes an internally developed servo motor and a programmable ECU that acts as the system’s “brain.” The combination of these elements allows for real-time self-regulation, ensuring more precise work and preventing damage to the plants.

In addition, Smart-Sense offers several key benefits, including:

  • Greater precision in plant detection and inter-row tool operation.
  • Reduction in manual adjustments.
  • Increased work speed, thanks to its ability to automatically adapt to terrain conditions.
  • Sustainability, reducing herbicide use and optimizing the use of natural resources.

Contributing to Sustainable Agriculture

The development of Smart-Sense aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in areas such as eradicating hunger (SDG 2), health and well-being (SDG 3), and industrial innovation (SDG 9), goals reflected in its recently published sustainability report. This system not only increases agricultural productivity but also promotes responsible farming practices by minimizing pesticide use and contributing to the preservation of terrestrial ecosystems.

Establishing itself as a leader in agricultural innovation

This technical mention at EIMA 2024 adds to a track record of awards received in recent editions. In the past four events, the company has been recognized for its continuous innovations:

  • 2018: Mention for ERI, a quick hitch and release system for trailers and spreaders.
  • 2020: Mention for the launch of I-DUST, a hydraulic sulfur spreader with variable dosing system.
  • 2022: Mention for V-DUAL, a double-disc pruner with 4.0 technology, noted for its precision and adaptability in complex terrains.

With this fourth mention at EIMA 2024, ID David reaffirms itself as a leader in agricultural innovation, committed to improving the efficiency, sustainability, and automation of cultivation processes.
